The Foundation of Art and Music for Dresden is sponsoring the IV Transformation Concert of the Vocal Concert Dresden under the direction of Peter Kopp, which is taking place as part of the 91st Bach Festival of the Neue Bachgesellschaft 2016.
The singers will get up close and personal musically with the exhibits of the Dresden Albertinum and surprise audiences with unusual perspectives on Johann Sebastian Bach. Like modern art techniques, music is analyzed, mirrored, textualized, edited and satirized. "Retrographia", a work by Dresden composer Peter Andreas, which will be premiered at the concert, turns a Bach fugue on its head, for example. Other works by Paul Dessau, Glenn Gould and, of course, Johann Sebastian Bach himself, interpreted in an exciting and outstanding manner, make for a varied and highly exciting concert evening.

About
VOCAL CONCERT DRESDEN
The activities of Vocal Concert Dresden, the choir directed by Peter Kopp, range from reflecting on centuries-old music in concert halls and churches to exploring and developing more unusual sounds and formats, from invitations to renowned festivals or orchestras to self-organized concerts.
Thanks to its interpretative intelligence and the emotional radiance of its concerts, Vocal Concert Dresden has earned great esteem both in its home city and on the international stage. The ensemble, consisting of professional singers and amateurs, has been repeatedly praised for its stylistic confidence and elegant, natural style of music-making. This has been confirmed not only by numerous concerts at home and abroad, but also by a number of CD productions.
