1st prize in age group 4 for Ibrahim Ignatov

The Saxon State High School for Music Dresden is organizing the Carl Maria von Weber International Piano Competition for young pianists in Dresden for the first time. 46 participants from 15 nations are taking part in the competition.

The aim of the competition is to provide young musicians with an international platform where they can meet, present, learn from each other and compare on an international level. In addition, the competition offers many performance opportunities: as part of the Dresden Music Festival, at the Moritzburg Festival, with the Dresden Kapellsolisten.

The focus of the competition program is the piano works of the namesake Carl Maria von Weber, whose wide range of piano music is intended to be made better known through the competition.

The top-class international jury was impressed by the high level of the participants. Ibrahim Ignatov from Bulgaria won the 1st prize in the 4th category and thus the prize sponsored by the Foundation of Art & Music for Dresden. Congratulations!
