Foundation donates 1st prize
The Sächsisches Landesgymnasium für Musik Dresden hosted the first international Carl Maria von Weber competition for young pianists from 24 to 28 April 2019 in Dresden.
The competition wants to give young pianists an international platform where they can meet, present, learn from each other and compare internationally.
In addition, the competition offers many performance opportunities: as part of the Dresden Music Festival, at the Moritzburg Festival, with the Dresden Kapellsolisten u.a. The focus of the competition program is on the piano works of the patron saint Carl Maria von Weber, whose wide range of piano music is to be better known through the competition.
46 participants from 15 nations took part in the competition. The top-class international jury was impressed by the high level of the participants.
Ibrahim Ignatov from Bulgaria won the 1st prize in the 4th category and the prize of our foundation.
