Barbara Hannigan as guest at the Dresden Music Festival 2019
Foundation of Art and Music for Dresden sponsors the concert "Strawinskys »The Rake’s Progress«" with Barbara Hannigan
The singer and conductor Barbara Hannigan is one of the pioneering musical personalities of our time. Not only as a soprano, but also as a conductor, she stands for groundbreaking artistic projects. One such visionary initiative is the "Equilibrium" mentoring program founded in 2017, which offers young singers at the beginning of their careers a professional podium. The first production to grow out of this is dedicated to Stravinsky's turgid morality tale "The Rake's Progress" - the story of the bon vivant Tom Rakewell, whose dissolute lifestyle ends in ruin. Hannigan, who sang Anne Trulove herself in her first stage role, will lead the LUDWIG Orchestra, Cappella Amsterdam and the selected young vocal talents in this special concert opera performance at the Kulturpalast.
