After the digital kick-off in May and the long-awaited resumption of live concerts in June, the festival year "DIALOGE" of the Dresden Music Festival will come to a close with two concerts in November 2021, sponsored by the Foundation of Art & Music for Dresden. However, due to the current infection, which does not allow a feasibility of the music education project "Ludwig im Wald" by the large number of contributors at present, the concert has been postponed to a later date.

Music education project "Ludwig im Wald"

"It is as if every tree spoke to me," Beethoven raved during his sojourns in the countryside. In times when environment and climate issues are more topical than ever, the composer now becomes the occasion to shed new light on and question the relationship between man and nature. Based on the "Pastorale", the musical testimony of Beethoven's deep connection to nature, Dresden students, the University Choir and students of the University of Music under the direction of Cathy Milliken and Robert Lehmeier have created a music theater piece in a project originally planned for Beethoven's 250th birthday in 2020. With this premiere, they are making a sounding statement against environmental destruction and for sustainability and climate protection!
